Manufacturing Wire Harness

Empire Electronics is a full-service wire harness supplier that processed approximately 150 million circuits last year. We employ a variety of wire processing technologies that are used in the manufacturing of our wire harnesses. By operating state-of-the-art equipment, such as our 50 Komax wire-processing machines, we are able to process more than 550,000 splices per month to provide our customers with the highest-quality wire harness products.

Also, by utilizing other advanced processes and technologies including overmolding for connectors and terminals; sonic and ultrasonic welding for our molded products; and discrete wire insulation displacement, protective braiding and automatic cut, strip and termination for our harnesses, we have the capabilities to develop any product for your wire harness needs.

Our agile manufacturing system requires all of our operators to receive full training in Empire’s quality and production system. As a result of its full implementation, the plant averages only two days of total Work in Process (WIP) at any time.

Molding / Over Molding / Potting

At Empire, we eliminate the need for separate suppliers by offering molding services to complete your product. We believe the integrity of a product line should never be sacrificed. That is why our team of designers and engineers will create molded components that meet your production requirements. The results are convenience, cost savings and quality.

Our molding capabilities include:

  • On-site manufacturing of grommets and connectors
  • Design and build options
  • Production of precision connector and interconnect devices
  • Press sizes range from 30 to 200 tons
  • 75 molding Machines
  • Currently molding 2.5 million parts per week

Over Molding

The production of grommets is crucial for our LED technology. That is why we have developed an in-house solution to over-mold grommets on our existing wire harnesses to give them the capability of connecting to LEDs, while keeping the wires insulated and stable within the vehicle.

Potting

Empire Electronics’ potting process is the benchmark in the industry. By reducing material, eliminating wire splices, and creating superior sealing properties, potting can provide customers a 10%-15% cost savings per harness. The primary reason for our potting success is our state of the art clean room. The clean room is equipped with temperature-controlled and humidity-controlled devices, used to ensure the highest quality during the very critical curing process
